The real difference: who is steering
Lovable, Bolt and Replit are tools you drive. You prompt, the tool generates, you check what came out and prompt again, and you decide when it is done. A freelancer is a person who drives for you, managed by you. 19 Agents is a coordinated team of AI agents that drives the build, while the business decisions, the price and the release stay with you.
None of these is better in general. The right one depends on how much time you want to spend steering, how much certainty you want about cost, and what you are building.
Which fits whom
| Option | What it is | Fits you if |
|---|---|---|
| Lovable | An AI app builder: you describe the app in a chat and it generates a working web app you keep refining. | You want to try an idea quickly and enjoy iterating on it yourself. |
| Bolt | An AI coding environment in the browser that generates full applications from a prompt. | You are comfortable seeing and nudging code, and want speed over hand-holding. |
| Replit | An online development environment with an AI agent that builds, runs and deploys apps. | You want a full development environment, or are learning to build software yourself. |
| A freelancer | A person who builds it for you, paid by the hour or by the project. | You want human judgment, have found someone you trust, and can manage the work. |
| 19 Agents | A coordinated team of AI agents that plans, builds, reviews, tests and prepares the release. | You want a new product built without steering every step, a fixed price before work starts, and the final say on the release. |
How they charge, in general terms
The AI builders charge by subscription and usage, so the cost of a project depends on how many attempts it takes; check their current plans on their own sites, because they change. Freelancers charge by the hour or by the project. 19 Agents quotes one fixed price for the accepted scope before the build starts, and if the work costs more than quoted, the price does not go up. Running the released product is a separate monthly price, on the pricing page.
Where 19 Agents does not fit yet
Honestly, in these cases one of the others is the better choice today:
- You want to start this afternoon. The beta is closed and admission is gradual; the tools above you can open right now.
- You already have code. Every beta product starts from a new idea. Bringing code you already have comes after the beta.
- You need real customer data now. The beta is for building and testing, not for collecting personal data about real customers or users or connecting a production database.
- You are in the United Kingdom. The beta is not offered there.
- Your product is unusual. Not every type of application or business requirement is supported yet.
Where 19 Agents is different
- Roles, not one assistant. Separate agents plan, build, review and test, and the work is coordinated for you rather than prompted by you.
- The price first. You approve a fixed price for the scope before anything is built.
- Evidence. Every stage is recorded: what was built, reviewed and tested, what passed and what did not.
- Your call on the release. By default, nothing goes live until you approve it.
- Your code. You can push it to your own GitHub repositories and ask for an export.
Questions
- Is 19 Agents an alternative to Lovable, Bolt or Replit?
- For some people. Those tools are driven by you, prompt by prompt. 19 Agents is a coordinated team of AI agents that drives the build, with a fixed price you approve first and the release waiting for your approval. If you enjoy steering the build yourself, one of those tools may suit you better.
- Should I hire a freelancer or use AI?
- A freelancer brings human judgment and can take on almost anything, if you find the right person and manage the work. AI tools and 19 Agents take less of your time to manage. For a new website, a small web app or a first version of a product, compare a freelancer’s quote with the fixed price 19 Agents shows before any work starts.
- Can I start with an AI app builder and move to 19 Agents later?
- Not with the same code during the beta: every beta product starts from a new idea, and bringing code you already have comes after the beta. You can bring what you learned, which usually makes the description much clearer.
